Values of Saint Ignatius

The values of Saint Ignatius may be understood as the way of seeing reality through God’s eyes, as he invites us to become “embodied” in our world as witnesses of the Gospel. This embodiment includes the following:

  • Both our inner and outer selves, the joy and the sadness of the world we share.
  • Compassion. We should listen to the world, not only to know it better, but also to help those that need us most.
  • Choice. We understand life’s call to happiness as a vocation, which is why we seek to teach personal choice.
  • As the clear outcome of listening and compassion, a heart open to the needs of others cannot remain impassive.
